The Blue

The production of interim notes on old record plates was finally over. In 1954, the most significant bank note of the postwar period was given by the Austrian National Bank. This is the 1000 Schilling bill “the blue” with the portrait of A. Bruckner. The size of 192x89mm did not allow it to feed this bill unfolded in the purse. The thousand of 1954 is unfolded very rare and hard to get. The following thousands became a bit paler, smaller or grayer but the nickname “the blue” stayed until the Euro.
